Reverend Lewis Hejna, Rector
I have been ordained for 36 years. I began my priesthood assignment in Cape Girardeau at St. Mary Annunciation Cathedral. During my 18 years on the eastern side of the Diocese I taught at Notre Dame High School. Moving to my assignments in Springfield, I left teaching behind and accepted several Diocesan Committee assignments along with being the pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish with the largest grade school in our Diocese. Nine years ago I was asked by the Springfield Catholic School Board to take over the High School Theatre Program. I was made rector of St. Agnes Cathedral in August of 2014, and continue to enjoy serving the Catholic community in Springfield.
Much of my priesthood has been spent not only as a parish priest, but working in our Catholic Schools, serving on Diocesan Boards, and as Chaplain of various Knights of Columbus Councils.
